Our Ready Steady Read Write (RSRW) tutoring program embarks on a new model of training online!

Early in 2023, our tutor program coordinator training welcomed 70 participants, including Foundation Phase teachers, Learning Support teachers, advisors and program managers, from schools and organisations across the Western Cape, Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal for a dynamic and engaging early literacy training experience.

The training featured interactive online sessions and short self-study courses completed independently – an exciting first for Ready Steady Read Write! It was rewarding to see months of preparation and exploration of a new online platform received with such enthusiasm. This innovation allowed us to support communities in training themselves – without the limitations of travel and with the benefit of ongoing accessibility.

We were thrilled to welcome new partners and reconnect with our long-standing RSRW collaborators, including Mellon Educate, Stellumthombo, Masinyusane Development Organization, Anchor of Hope Africa, Darling Outreach Foundation, and Community Outreach Project. It was a meaningful step forward in strengthening our shared commitment to early literacy.
