Resources for children 0 to 3 years old

Did you know babies start learning while still in the womb? What babies experience in pregnancy and the first months of a child’s life are vital for laying the foundations for learning. We all know children need food for their bodies to grow, but research now tells us that children’s brains need nourishment too. Little brains grow when they have a warm responsive relationship with a caregiver. When we smile, talk, sing and make eye contact with our baby, their brains grow! When we respond to babies’ babble and children’s first words and sentences, the brain circuits linked to talking are built and strengthened.

Resources for children 7 to 9 years old

We all want our children to leave the Foundation Phase as confident readers and writers. At this age, it is vital to give special support to learners who are not able to make the leap to literacy. And it is important for all learners to have a varied and rich literacy experience so that they read and write with meaning and become life long learners.
