Stellar Home Language programme orientation empowers Grade R teachers in Ngcobo, EC

The Stellar Home Language Programme has launched in Ngcobo with support from the Sanlam Foundation, bringing interactive, CAPS-aligned literacy training to Grade R teachers at Masonwabe and Tembeni Primary Schools. Wordworks will continue training throughout 2025 and 2026.

The first orientation brought together Grade R teachers and key education stakeholders, including the Deputy Head and District Subject Advisor. Participants engaged with Stellar’s story-based, activity-rich teaching tools and expressed excitement about applying them in their classrooms.

Teachers left the orientation feeling inspired and equipped to create joyful, engaging learning experiences for young learners. The programme integrates songs, storytelling, games, and playful activities to strengthen children’s language, early literacy, and emergent literacy skills, while fitting seamlessly into the daily classroom routine.
