Little Stars programme training strengthens learning in Makhanda

In July 2025, Wordworks hosted a full-day Little Stars Programme training in Makhanda for officials from the Eastern Cape Department of Education, Nelson Mandela District, and ECD partners. The session provided hands-on strategies to support early childhood education, language development activities, and early literacy programmes.

The training was part of Wordworks’ collaboration with The Lebone Centre through the Get It Done Foundation project. It aimed to strengthen early learning and deepen partnerships with the Department of Education.

Department officials, ECD centre managers, and ECD practitioners attended the session, all committed to giving children the best start in life. Participants practiced storytelling, interactive activities, and strategies ready to apply immediately in classrooms.

The Little Stars Programme combines engagement, creativity, and evidence-based methods to make learning effective and enjoyable, helping educators support emergent literacy and build strong foundations for lifelong learning.
