Wordworks engages Grade R teachers at WCED Indaba

Wordworks participated in the 2025 WCED Grade R Indaba, sharing the Stellar Home Language Programme with passionate educators. By supporting home language learning, we help strengthen early literacy foundations for young children across the Western Cape.

At the Indaba, teachers explored practical strategies for implementing Stellar in their classrooms. Research shows that learning in a child’s mother tongue builds stronger literacy skills and supports lifelong learning.

Organisations like Wordworks play a vital role in government initiatives, collaborating with teachers, schools, community groups, and funders to make early literacy programmes inclusive, accessible, and effective. Through these partnerships, we bridge research, policy, and classroom practice, equipping teachers with tools to enhance children’s learning journeys.
