Project model:
This was a collaborative early literacy initiative involving Book Dash, Nal’ibali, Wordworks, and local NGOs. Nal’ibali mobilised young people to activate storytelling and reading in communities, Book Dash provided books to be used across the project and Wordworks provided Little Stars training to ITEC and Khululeka to support practitioners in ECD centres. In addition to impacting 126 practitioners who reached 3000 children, 500 parents/ caregivers were equipped to support early learning at home. The evaluation validated the effectiveness of the Little Stars programme and the value of a multi-partner model supporting practitioners, providing high-quality resources, and engaging caregivers.

The evaluation of the Yizani Sifunde project was conducted by Social Impact Insights Africa, and funded by the Liberty Community Trust.
